New Harmony
New Harmony, Indiana, is a small community located in Posey County. New Harmony was first settled in the late 1800s by German immigrants who were determined to build a utopian society. The religious community put great focus on education and science, making it one of the most advanced communities of its time. Today, the community still puts great emphasis on education and scientific research. New Harmony serves as one of the headquarters of the U.S. Geological Society.
