Mount Scott is located just to the northeast of Happy Valley, Oregon, close to Interstate 205. With a summit of more than 1,000-feet, the Mount Scott neighborhood is actually situated on a section of the Boring Lava Field. Mount Scott, for which the neighborhood is named, is a volcanic cinder cone, which is ancient and dormant. The area around Happy Valley and Mount Scott was developed in the mid 19th Century, with Happy Valley being incorporated in 1965.
