Cullman
Located in the center of north Alabama, Cullman is known for its character and charm. Historically, Cullman was the site of Civil War Battle of Day's Gap between Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest and Union Colonel Abel Streight. The founder of the city was a German named John Cullman who wanted to create a safe haven for other German immigrants and refugees. Today the city still enjoys a rich German heritage, and German cultural events are celebrated throughout the year.
