Bartow
Bartow, West Virginia is considered a designated community in the eastern half of the state. Bartow is located in the scenic Monongahela National Forest and is a quiet country community. Just over 100 people live in Bartow, and the area is famous for the Camp Bartow Historic District in the center of the community. Bartow saw action during the American Civil War, and was actually named in honor of Colonel Francis Bartow, who was killed during the Battle of First Manassas, also known as the First Battle of Bull Run.
