Las Vegas
Downtown Las Vegas is literally a far cry from the flashy novelty of the Strip. It’s the central business district and the original gambling district prior to the Strip. There are many skyscrapers, hotels, cultural centers, historical buildings, and government institutions. There is a mix of residential and retail space and centered around Fremont Street. The most well-known attraction is the Fremont Street Experience, which is an outdoor light and sound show that serves as an expensive novelty to draw people away from the Strip. You will find more locals and business people than tourists in this area, but it’s still a very busy area. The downtown hotels and casinos are still a big draw.
