Seguin
Seguin is located in Guadalupe County, Texas and is in fact the county seat. This area has the reputation of being one of the state’s oldest towns. In fact, it was founded sixteen months after the conclusion of the Texas Revolution. Although there are no designated residential areas of the city for historic preservation, when you walk around the area, you will notice many homes from the 20th century. The downtown area of Seguin, however, can be found on the National Register of Historic Places.
Despite its relatively small size compared to other areas of the country, Seguin has plenty of options for tourists to enjoy. In fact, this is the smallest city in the entire country that has a symphony orchestra. The city is fairly educated, and the Seguin Independent School District has 14 schools. You can also find Texas Lutheran University, a small school of higher education, within the city. The Central Texas Technology Center is just to the north of the city, and this is part of the Alamo Colleges.
