Smoot
Smoot is not a town, but was designated as a place when the 2010 census was completed. With almost 200 people, it's not exactly a metropolis, but it does have a small town charm that is attractive. To the north is the town of Afton, which is also pretty small with a population of more than 1,900 people. Known for having the largest arch made of elk antlers, this oddity spans 75 feet across the US Highway 89 using more than 3,000 antlers and weighing more than 15 tons. The city of Montpelier, Idaho is over 40 miles away with a population of over 2,700 people and sits on the old Oregon Trail route that once bought settlers out West. Kemmerer, Wyoming is another city that's about 90 miles away (close by in these parts) and it's the Fossil Fish Capital of the World with the Fossil Butte National Monument, just about 15 miles away. It's also where James Cash Penney started the chain of retail stores, known as J.C. Penney's. All in all, the Smoot area has lots of small town charm with wide open spaces, and even a few shops, restaurants, and attractions to enjoy.
