Southboro
Southboro (also known as Southborough) is found within Worcester County in the state of Massachusetts. As of the 2010 census, Southboro had a population of 9,767 residents. Originally settled in 1660, Southboro was not officially incorporated until 1727. Worcester County was established even later, in 1731. With such a long history in the United States, it is probably not a surprise that Worcester County has over 200 historic homes, buildings, and structures listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Once a successful farming community, Southboro is now a primarily residential community with vast tracks of open land. In 1898, a local dam was established to divert water to the growing city of Boston. After this the town struggled and it was not until the tech boom of the 1970s that the area started seeing real economic and population growth.
