Harrisburg
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania is a mid-sized city in central Pennsylvania and is the state capital. Harrisburg has a population of roughly 50,000 and is located almost exactly in the center of the state. The city lies along the banks of the Susquehanna River and is a bit over 100 miles from Philadelphia.
Harrisburg is a very historical city. It has played a substantial role in many of the greatest events in the history of the United States, particularly during the Westward Expansion, the Civil War and the Industrial Revolution of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Given its proximity to the Susquehanna River and its history as a mining town it became one of the first heavily industrialized cities in America.
