Sierra Vista is located within Cochise County of Arizona. As of 2010, its population was around 44,000 people but the city itself is part of a larger area: the Sierra Vista-Douglas Micropolitan Area which has a population of about 129,500. Sierra Vista is about 70 miles to the southeast of the city of Tucson and is the recreational and cultural center of Cochise County.
There are plenty of mountains near Sierra Vista, AZ including the Mustang Mountains, Mule Mountains, Whetstone Mountains, Dragoon Mountains, and Huachuca Mountains and the eastern border of the city is defined by the San Pedro River. Nearly everywhere you turn around here is a backdrop for an amazing picture.
