Seattle
Seattle, Washington is the largest city on the Pacific Northwest, and one of the fastest growing cities in the world. It is the spawning ground for some of the most influential musical talents in recent American history, and much of its cityscape celebrates its roots in the industry. Residents of the city range wildly from below the poverty line on up to very wealthy.Seattle is first and foremost, a seaside community, with many of the buildings and people reflecting this. There are many inland lakes and green parks such as Washington Park Arboretum available in this city as well. The geography is hilly and covered with beaches such as Pritchard Island and Madison Park Beach.Seattle residents are commonly single adults, making the city a big party destination. It is also one of the largest cities involved in LGBT rights with associations such as Seattle Out & Proud and the LGBT Commission, and has more same sex couples than any other city in America. The political atmosphere has always been very loose and leaning toward democratic on many votes. Many residents are artists, musicians, and writers, as the city promotes these kinds of art and literature careers. While there are some bad areas, most of Seattle is busy and polite, making it a nice alternative to more central cities if you are looking to break into the art scene.
