Franklin

The county seat of Williamson County, Franklin, Kentucky is located south of the city of Nashville, and has a population of just under 70,000. It has a history that dates back to the 18th Century, and a bloody Civil War battle was fought here. This is a thriving suburb that was named after Benjamin Franklin. Many of the historic buildings that were here during the Civil War remain to this day. Many of them were used as field hospitals during the battle. The historic downtown region combines history with great shopping, as it is home to many art galleries and antique shops. Many good places to eat are also located here, and most of all these businesses are housed in buildings rich in history. There are beautiful parks here, and just north of town are two excellent golf courses. There are opportunities here as the largest employers in the city are the CoolSprings Galleria, and Community Health Systems. The headquarters of Nissan North American are also located here. Tourists flock here for three major festivals that are held here annually. There is a good public transportation system here, and most of the people here live a good quality of life, and enjoy the weather and the natural beauty of the area.
