Marlborough
Marlborough, a small town located between Boston and Worcester, was one of the country's first city's to have a streetcar system. The city was established in 1660 and eventually became a thriving hub of industry. Major shoe manufacturer The Rockport Company continues to produce shoes in Marlborough today. Established suburban neighborhood streets contain large trees and are within close proximity to Main Street's quaint shops and restaurants. The city is also home to 3 lakes as well as a number of important historic sites like Longfellow's Wayside Inn, the country's oldest inn. Located just a short drive from New England's coast, Marlborough is close to a number of New England's larger cities including Boston, Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island.
