Oceanside
This sleepy coastal surf town is North of San Diego and South of Los Angeles. Oceanside is best known for its warm sandy beaches, the famous wooden pier, and the Cape Cod-style harbor village. Palm trees line the quaint main street that dead ends into the Pacific Ocean. The 3.5 mile stretch of wide, sandy beach includes a 1,000 boat slip harbor, the largest mission in California and defines the real California coastal laid-back experience. The beach is always busy with surfers and beach-goers who enjoy the scenic beaches, the amazing surf, and is considered to have the best climate anywhere in the world. Oceanside is known the world over for its surfing conditions and holds many surfing competitions throughout the year. It’s also home to Oceanside Pier, the longest wooden pier on the West Coast.
