Vero Beach

Vero Beach is a set of five incorporated towns in Indian River County. The beaches are part of Florida's Treasure Coast, and the sunny skies and picturesque beaches draw tourists year round. The main beach is South Beach, but Humiston Park and Conn Beach are also popular. The Florida East Coast Railway bisects the area and serves the local industries. Lumber, building products, grapefruit, and organic packing houses all use the railroad and feed the local economy. Piper Aircraft is also the largest private employer in the county. Significant archeological discoveries were also made in the region. In 1915, 44 fossilized human bones from the Pleistocene era were unearthed here.
