Raleigh

Known as the “City of Oaks” for its numerous oak trees, Raleigh is a very cultural and historic city. This state capital contains the South’s first African American college, Shaw University, which started classes in 1865. Today Raleigh has grown from its small town roots into North Carolina’s cultural and educational center. Its residents include families, young professionals, students, and married couples.
