Gresham

Gresham, Oregon is a city of 106,000 located just east of Portland. The city was named for the first postmaster general and founder of the city, Walter Q. Gresham, a former Civil War General. The city was called Campground during the time of the Westward Expansion, as it was often used as a place for travelers to spend the night since it had a general store for purchasing supplies and mailing letters back East. Gresham is home to three award-winning school systems, Reynolds, Centennial, and Gresham-Barlow. It is also home to Mount Hood Community College. With its proximity to Portland, Gresham has become a popular suburb for those who work in Portland and with its beautiful older homes and shady, tree-lined streets - not to mention breathtaking scenery - Gresham is a wonderful place to call home.
