Madison
Recently established as on of Huntsville's fastest growing suburbs, Madison, Alabama, is considered part of the Huntsville Metropolitan Area. Located just west of Huntsville and north of Birmingham, this suburban city has a unique history and was originally known as Madison Station. Settled in the early 1800s, early businesses consisted of saw and gristmill operations, as well as a blacksmith's shop. Many of the buildings that housed these early business pioneers can still be seen today in Madison's Madison Station Historic District. This lovely town, just north of the Tennessee River, provides small town charm on the edge of a big city.
