Ladera Ranch
Ladera Ranch is a massive 4,000-acre residential neighborhood located just southeast of Mission Viejo, California. In 1999, the plan for the community began, and land was secured from the massive 23,000-acre Rancho Mission Viejo, the largest working ranch in Orange County. When Ladera Ranch was built, developers broke the community down into “villages” that would each appeal to a different demographic of potential residents. Each village offers its own set theme, architecture, and amenities. In whole, Ladera Ranch has nearly 20 public parks, six pools, green belts, shopping centers, and abundant sidewalks.Currently, Ladera Ranch is home to just under 23,000 people. Ladera Ranch is an unincorporated neighborhood governed by the Orange County Board of Supervisors. Community organizations and the Ladera Ranch Civic Council manage neighborhood issues without municipal or legal authority.
