Burlington

Burlington, North Carolina, is a city of 50,000 in the central part of the state. The city is nestled between the Atlantic coast and the mountains and is a prosperous area with a vibrant downtown area. In downtown Burlington, one will find financial services, a large library, a restored theater, small ships of all kinds, and places to eat. The city of Burlington is home to the Laboratory Corporation of America, one of the area's largest employers and the largest biomedical testing laboratory in the world. There is a wide variety of parks in the town that have baseball fields and basketball courts, soccer fields, frisbee golf courses, and playgrounds for children. For all of its growing small town charm, there is plenty to see and do here as the town is home to a professional baseball rookie league farm team of the Kansas City Royals. It is a short drive to Elon University, so there is a good mix of ages here and activities for everyone.
