Lexington
Lexington, SC is a town with great history of British settlements and war skirmishes. It was originally established by King George II in order to encourage the creation of a “buffer” settlement against local Native American tribes. Early settlers in this region came from Switzerland and Germany and began cultivating crops such as corn, wheat, tobacco, and hemp. Today the area is known for its lumbar production, cotton, and corn. It was home to many skirmishes during the American Revolution, but today is a small hub for local dining and entertainment.
