A neighborhood of a little over 100,000 residents, Jackson Heights is located in Queens, New York. The community is a historic district, with plenty of original buildings from when the area was first constructed. Private homes and large garden apartment buildings comprise most of the residential structures in the area, and many private parks exist for locals to enjoy. Originally, the city was one of the first garden city communities that was achieved at the beginning of the garden city movement. Retail shops, community markets, and co-ops make up a large part of the community and contribute to the close-knit feel of the area.
