Casper
A city of 55,000 residents, Casper, Wyoming, is the 2nd largest city in the state. Nicknamed the “Oil City,” Casper has a long history of oil production and a wild west cowboy culture. Located at foot of Casper Mountain, this region is also known as Big Sky country for the majestic beauty here. But that beauty comes with a price as winters here can be dangerously cold, and blizzards are not uncommon.
Recent developments of coal and uranium field have kept Casper a leader in the energy field, after the oil industry declined. The city is home to Casper College and the local schools here are some of the best in the state. Casper is also home to the College National Finals Rodeo, and is home to a number of historical sites and museums.
One can also see minor league football, baseball, and rugby here, so there is plenty here to see for those who love their sports. Casper is also home to three locations that offer theater productions. It is also home to the Troopers, a Drum Corps International drum and bugle corps that tours the nation every summer, and is a fan favorite.
There are plenty of places in the city to shop, without having to deal with the traffic and crowds of big city malls. This is a low crime town, and the place to live for people who do love country living and natural beauty. There is also public transportation in town for citizens and visitors to the area. You may may never visit a more friendly town in your entire life.
