Kensington
Kensington, California is a small community located just north of Berkeley. Considered part of the East Bay portion of San Francisco, Kensington has the feel of a quiet, small town; but the convenience of being centrally located near major metropolitan areas and thoroughfares. With a population just over 5,000, Kensington is unincorporated, yet well organized. Unlike most communities that are not incorporated, Kensington maintains local jurisdiction over city and public services.With Interstates 580 and 80 just to the west, Wildcat Canyon Regional Park to the east, Richmond to the north, and Berkeley to the south, the area around Kensington is rich with things to see and do. Additionally, the views from many of Kensington's hilly neighborhoods are enough to make many visitors want to call this area home. Because Kensington is predominantly residential area, you may have to venture just outside the community boundary in order to adventure to some nearby attractions, however, Kensington is within minutes of many great amenities.
