Hazleton is a proud city located in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. It bears the nicknames “The Mountain City” and “The Power City.” This is due in large part to a discovery of coal that was made there in the early 1800s. The area now known as “Greater Hazleton” is comprised of about 80,000 residents, and spans across three counties. Situated in the ridge and valley section of Pennsylvania and home to a plateau named Spring Mountain, the area is both beautiful and known for being one of the highest incorporated cities east of the Mississippi River. Today, it is home to many big corporations, including Coca Cola, Hershey, and General Mills.
