Galveston
Galveston is a coastal city on the Gulf of Mexico that spans about 200 square miles across Galveston Island and Pelican Island. It is the second largest municipality in the county of Galveston and is part of a historic settlement of French and Spanish explorers that came over in the early 1800s. The town's rich history, including a devastating hurricane in 1900 that nearly wiped out everything on the island, make it one of the most unique places to visit in the south.
