Bend
River West is a mostly residential area in the city of Bend, Oregon. It is home to several individual subdivisions that break up the area into upper middle to upper class housing zones. While it is home to some businesses, most of them are directed toward traffic coming to the Mt. Bachelor Group Ski Area, and some of the other resorts in the nearby area. It is a fairly quiet place to live, and has a lower than average crime rate. Median housing costs are slightly higher here than in other areas of the state, but so are home lot sizes. For a metropolitan center, the city of Bend itself has only around eighty thousand residents.
The area attracts many adventurers and explorers, as it is rife with beautiful natural settings. The river and several surrounding parks are protected as eco-zones, even though tourists are allowed to visit many of them. The Deschutes River that gives both the area of the city, and the city's name, also attracts a lot of attention from boaters and other water sport enthusiasts. Historically, it played an important role in the founding and colonization of Oregon. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing area, full of natural beauty to visit, River West in Bend Oregon is one of the best choices.
