Peachtree City
Peachtree City is an authentic planned community, designed by developers in the 1950s after they acquired 12,000 acres in Fayette County, Georgia. Though the area had been populated by the Woodland Era Indians and other settlers for thousands of years prior, contemporary Peachtree City was officially chartered in 1959. Because of its highly planned structure, Peachtree City is perhaps best known for its golf cart culture - with an extensive system of golf cart paths stretching across 90 miles in and around the city. More than 9,000 Peachtree City households own a golf cart - a number that gives the community a distinct accolade in the world.
