Irving
Founded in 1903, the town of Irving, Texas was named after the literary author Washington Irving, the favorite author of one of the founding member's relatives. Irving is located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. With a population about 230,000 residents, it is the thirteenth most populous city in the state of Texas. Historically, the city experienced slow growth, until a number of manufacturing plants began to operate in Irving, along with transportation, retail and financial businesses, which opened there in the 1930s. Valley Ranch is a beautiful area just north of I-635 and surrounded by waterways and parkland.
