Dragoon
Dragoon, Arizona is an unincorporated community in Cochise County. In the southeast of the state, Dragoon was named for a U.S. Calvary unit, along with the nearby Dragoon Mountains. Cochise County was established in 1881 and adopted its name from Cochise, a legendary Chiricahua Apache war chief. One notable historic event that took place in Cochise County was the gunfight at the O.K. Corral between two groups of men. Wyatt Earp was on the side of his brother Virgil Earp, and Morgan Earp and his friend Doc Holiday. The men who opposed them were Billy Claiborne, Ike and Billy Clanton, and Tom and Frank McLaury.
