Cleveland

Named after General Moses Cleveland in 1796, Cleveland, Ohio was originally developed as a commercial center and a transportation hub, thanks to its location on the Great Lakes. During the Civil Rights Movement, Cleveland went through a period of riots, violence, and financial default. Today, Cleveland is generally considered a great example of revitalization with its investment in the arts, increased funding for public education, and neighborhood renewal.
