Decatur
Decatur, Illinois is a large city in the dead-center of the state. The city is built around Lake Decatur and is a major manufacturing town. Many of the Caterpillar construction machines are manufactured in Decatur. Due to its Midwest location, agriculture also plays a large role in the city's economy. The history of the city is well known, as Decatur is the original home of President Abraham Lincoln. The city commemorates this great president with a statue in the downtown core, marking the spot where Lincoln made the first political speech of his career.
