Chambersburg
The seat of Franklin County, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, is a city of 53,000 residents. The city has a long history that dates back to the 18th Century. It also has the distinction of being the only northern town burned by the Confederates during the Civil War.
Today Chambersburg is a large and diverse community with excellent city services and small town charm. Recreation for residents here includes hunting, sporting events held at Henninger Field, and high school football games on Friday night. Chambersburg is home to Wilson College. This small liberal arts college for that historically was women only is now co-ed. It is well known for its equestrian programs. It is also home to a school of music that holds public concerts throughout the year, and they are available to tutor children in music.
