Ocala

Situated in the middle of North Central Florida, Ocala is less than a 90-minute drive to both the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. In 1943, it became home to Florida’s first thoroughbred horse farm. Today, Ocala has more than 1,200 horse farms, earning it the title of the horse capital of the world. Ocala also provides entrance into the Ocala National Forest. Encompassing roughly 600 square miles, the Ocala National Forest is the second-largest national forest in Florida.
