Everything about this town makes people want to vacation here, with everything being right in the same area, so you never have to go very far in order to have a good time. This is a great place for anyone who is looking to spend some time away, relishing in being at the shore and taking in the simple, localized pleasures that this harbor has to offer.
The 3.5 square mile town of York began in the 18th century as a prosperous seaport, while the harbor, which was known back then as Lower Town, was always bustling with settlers and merchandise who consistently brought goods to sell, to trade, or to ship. Now, the harbor is still a very prosperous town, with a population of over 3,000 people, living within about 1,334 households, and throughout about 895 families. Most of the people who live in this area are married couples, and there are also a good amount of children, which adds to the already genuine family-friendly atmosphere.
