Lafayette
Located northwest of Indianapolis is Lafayette, Indiana, the county seat of Tippecanoe County, and a beautiful place to visit or call home. Largely recognized as the home to Purdue University, Lafayette is a thriving town nearly 70,000 residents. The history of Lafayette runs deep, back to the early 18th Century when Miami Indians settled the area. The town we know as Lafayette wasn't platted until 1825, and was named after General Lafayette, the notable General who aided George Washington during the Revolutionary War.Today, Lafayette stands as an icon of history, innovation, and forward thinking. In the entire state, Lafayette is the only city to house an LGBT Allie Community Center. Further, Lafayette is home to Pride Lafayette, Inc. Of course, the diverse nature of the city only makes sense with the presence of a prestigious university, several private schools, and an abundance of notable businesses.
