East Bridgewater

Located on the northern side of the Taunton River, East Bridgewater is a quaint little town that was first occupied by Europeans in 1723. The current population is really a spillover of people from the plantations that had sprung up around the region decades ago, most notably Plymouth and Duxbury. The town was originally a part of Olde Bridgewater, or Bridgewater according to the more modern term, but officially separated in 1823. Townsfolk had originally begun their trade in agriculture and later branched off into the budding industrial field. The towns is not too short on legends, as according to history, Jack Turner, the famous bank robber is said to have left some of his loot behind at his brother's home in E Bridgewater in the mid-19th century. Today the town has a population of roughly 13 000.
