Fargo
Fargo, North Dakota, sits in the corner of North Dakota where Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota come together. Because of its geographical location, the vibrant city is a major regional health, business, and educational city. There are six colleges in the city. The largest of these is the North Dakota State University of Agriculture and Applied Sciences, more commonly referred to simply as North Dakota State University. Students can earn degrees in more than 170 undergraduate programs, 81 master’s programs, and 47 doctorate programs. The city is also the home to Rasmussen College, where students can earn degrees in business, technology, design, nursing, justice, and education. The city has two business colleges: Aakers Business College and Dakota Business College. In addition, students can earn their cosmetology degree from Jeserf’s School of Hair Design Incorporated, and their barbering degree from Moler Barber College.
The largest employer in Fargo is Stanford Health, which operates the Sanford Fargo Medical Center, but also operates hospitals, clinics, and managed care facilities throughout Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Another large employer is Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, whose corporate offices are located here. Yet another large employer is Case Holland, which builds many of its tractors here.
