Arvada
Windy Ridge is a small and slightly confusing neighborhood within the city of Arvada, Colorado which is close to Denver and included in its metropolitan area. The reason that Windy Ridge occasionally confuses people is that it is sometimes considered to be part of Arvada, but at other times it is considered a neighborhood of Golden, CO which is to the west of Arvada but has some neighborhoods farther to the north including Windy Ridge.
The neighborhood of Windy Ridge is fairly far north compared to the rest of Arvada and Golden. It sits slightly south of West 120th Avenue which is State Route 128. It is along Indiana Street and has a rectangular shape jutting out to the east from this road.
Windy Ridge is fairly small with an area of only around 0.026 square miles and because of its remote location when compared to the rest of Arvada, its population is only about five people. It is not actually close to any of the other neighborhoods within Arvada or Golden. Instead, most of the area surrounding Windy Ridge belongs to Broomfield County, making its classification challenging for non-locals to understand.
The main road near Windy Ridge is Route 128 - West 120th Avenue as mentioned earlier. By following this road east, you will reach U.S. Route 36, also known as the Denver Boulder Turnpike.
There are many large green areas to explore near Windy Ridge with the closest being the Great Western Reservoir and Colorado Hills Open Space.
