Madera
Located just north of Fresno and west of Yosemite National Park and the Sierra National Forest, Madera, California, is situated perfectly between the desert, forest, and ocean. Founded in the late 1800s by the California Lumber Company, and in business until the 1930s, lumber was harvested and transported to Madera, where it was then shipped out of town by train. ¬¬This little gem in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley offers an oasis of relaxation and adventure, miles from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
