Manchester
A quaint New England small town atmosphere combined with natural parks, ponds, and bike paths makes Manchester, Connecticut one of the region’s most exciting places to stay. Located just east of Hartford and East Hartford, Manchester was settled in the 1670s by early colonists who became some of the region’s most prolific farmers. As the city grew it became a thriving industrial metropolis, home to many of the nation’s most successful textile mills including the Cheney Brothers Mills and the Hillard Mills. The home of Wickham Park, a large 250-acre green space on the city’s west side, Manchester’s suburban streets are lined with traditional clapboard and Cape Cod style homes, a variety of established trees, and walkable sidewalks. This small city boasts many of New England’s finest historic sites, and offers visitors a glimpse into the region’s past with all the amenities of contemporary life.
