Chantilly
A community of 24,000 in the western part of Fairfax County, Chantilly, Virginia, is home to the Washington Dulles International Airport, and the National Air and Space Museum. The town lacks a classic downtown section, and it is a collection of residential subdivisions and retail areas that replaced the farm lands that were here over the past several decades as Washington DC spread outward in all directions.
There are Civil War historic sites here as the Second Battle of Bull Run, one of the bloodiest of the war, was fought nearby. Today, this town is home to many professionals who work at the airport or in government offices in nearby DC.
