Mechanicsville
Located in Hanover County, Virginia, and settled by European colonists in the 17th century, Mechanicsville is rich in culture and history. Old Mechanicsville is home to an original stone windmill that serves as a decorative landmark and sits in the city's center. Just a short drive northeast of Richmond, once the capital of the Confederate States of America, Mechanicsville is an important landmark in many Civil War battles including the Battle of Beaver Dam Creek and the Battle of Gaines' Mill.
