St. Joseph has a population of 75,000 and is the eight-largest city in Missouri. Lucky inhabitants have their choice of 14 unique museums, including the famed Pony Express Museum. It is here visitors can visit the stables that once housed the horses that galloped across the U.S. delivering mail prior to rail. Outlaw Jesse James met his end here. Tourists can now peruse artifacts of his life at the Jesse James Museum.
History buffs will want to relocate after visiting all of the historic places St. Joseph has to offer. No wonder St. Joseph has been named an “All American City” by the National Civic League. The city was also voted the “Top Western Town” in True West Magazine in 2008.
