Reva, South Dakota, is located in Harding County in the northwestern quadrant of the state. The area is officially known as an unincorporated community and is home to only a few dozen residents who are spread throughout the area on large country homesteads. Fields and farmlands make up the entirety of the terrain. Reva is known around South Dakota as the site of the Battle of Slim Buttes between the Sioux Indians and the United States Army. Custer National Forest is west of Reva, and the town of Buffalo, the county seat of Harding County, is a half hour west of the community.
