Smithville has a population of just over 70 residents in Lawrence County, Arkansas, but is largely vacant without any major highways, large grocery stores, or retail stores. This quaint community sits in the Ozark Foothills on the Ozark Plateau. Although the center of town sits on a hill, flooding is common in some parts of the town. For this reason, there are a number of reservoirs in the area to regulate the water supply. There are also local highways, such as AR Route 117 and AR Route 115 that can take you to the nearby cities of Imboden and Black Rock.
You won’t New York City-like nightlife in Black Rock though, as this city isn’t much bigger than Smithville with only about 700 people and Imboden has a little less with over 670 people. The largest city in the region is Batesville with over 10,000 people and a host of restaurants, shops, and attractions.
