New Harmony, Indiana, is a small community located in Posey County. New Harmony was first settled in the late 1800s by German immigrants who were determined to build a utopian society. Today, the community still puts great emphasis on education and scientific research. New Harmony serves as one of the headquarters of the U.S. Geological Society.
