Solen sits on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation and has a population of just over 80 people. In 1910, this small city was founded on the Northern Pacific Railway Line, and then named after the pioneer, Mary Louise Van Solen. She was the first teacher on the reservation and had a big influence on the people. In Solen, there are only a few amenities, but you aren't far from Bismarck. This city of more than 61,000 people is the capital of North Dakota and the hub of cultural attractions in the region. Come to enjoy a day of shops, restaurants, and attractions in one of the largest cities in the state.
