West Virginia is a state full of rolling mountains and rural charm; the town of Lake is no exception. The town is built around the natural beauty of the area, filled with lush forests. The area is a popular tourist destination in the fall because of the changing colors of the leaves, and in the warmer months because of the town's proximity to fishing and hunting opportunities. The atmosphere in the area is that of rural comfort, with much of the area consisting of open forest and natural beauty.
Lake is a very small town located just outside of Mitchell Heights, which is in itself small with only about 450 people calling the area home. Lake also is near Logan, WV, a relatively larger but still very rural town. Lake is a town built on strong community ties and rural hospitality, a reflection of the state of West Virginia in itself.
