Dennard, Arkansas is a community located in Van Buren County, Arkansas. It is located in the northern central region of the state. Van Buren County was named after President Martin Van Buren. The county seat is Clinton, Arkansas. Arkansas is known for having over 2000 caves and caverns, and is called The Natural State. In 2008, there was an F4 tornado in this area destroying many homes and businesses. The Buffalo National River area crosses into many counties in northern Arkansas. The Buffalo National River is approximately 50 miles northwest of Dennard, while Clinton, Arkansas is about 14 miles south of Dennard. The upper section of the river is located in the Ozark National Forest. This area of Arkansas has many festivals throughout the year; on Memorial Day, you will find the locals holding The Lost Cherokee Pow Wow, and on Labor Day, they celebrate the National Chuck Wagon Championship. This area offers a central location to get around to many other towns inside northern Arkansas, and wonderful scenery in the area.
